This will be a private session and a 1-on-1 online workshop on a date and time of your choice.

I understand that calligraphy as an art form may appear a bit intimidating and since you are a beginner I have ensured to keep the script (alphabet style) simple so you can easily pick up the techniques and enjoy this beautiful journey. I can assure you that it is addictive and very mediative.

I had the honor of teaching on the IAMPETH virtual platform and attend the annual conference each year. I have had the good fortune to launch of my flourishing workbooks at the conference in USA in 2024 and 2025.

Modern Calligraphy is inspired by 18th-century penmanship called Copperplate Script that uses pointed nibs to achieve the beautiful hairlines and shaded strokes.

During the workshop, I will compare the modern script to the copperplate script so you have a full understanding of how the rules work and how you can break them up to write in a beautiful script that is natural and individual to your own style of writing. We will learn several variations of each alphabet so you can modify the script to your personal liking. 

In this fun session, you will learn the art of Modern Calligraphy from the comfort of your home, with all required calligraphy supplies sent to you in advance. 

This workshop is designed exactly like my in-person workshops. You will be guided through the basic's strokes, from ink flow and pen pressure, shapes, and learning a modern set of alphabets and their variations. 

As we progress through the workshop, you'll be practicing free letterforms, words and developing your own unique style.

You will soon be writing beautiful notes to your friends and family. 

Just like my in-person workshops, this will be interactive, and I will give you feedback as we progress through the workshop.

Day 1: Introduction to the tools, explaining the techniques, practice drills, and lower-case alphabets + homework with feedback (3 hours)

Day 2: Upper case alphabets and joining alphabets to write small words + homework with feedback. (3 hours)

Day 3: We will learn how to write words and sentences. Writing on different surfaces, using different inks and nibs. How you prepare for project work, using templates and guide sheets for colored papers & more. We will critique your work and spend time on how we can improve (4 hours)

Questions and discussion.

A week later: Feedback no 3 on your work via email.

How the Live Workshop will work:

This workshop will be held live via Zoom, a video conferencing platform. Once you register, we will send out a full Calligraphy Kit to you so you have all the supplies you need for this workshop. A zoom workshop link will be emailed to you a day prior to the workshop. Inform us if you are left-handed or right-handed.

If you face any technical difficulties during the workshop, you will have access to the recorded session which will be available for 45 days. Recordings are on auto delete. 

What you need to have at your end:

-          Laptop or Computer access with reliable broadband.

-          A quiet and well-lit space in your home so we do not have any disturbances.

-          A small bowl of water

-          A small cotton cloth to wipe your nib.

-          A pencil and an eraser & An exam board.
